Aaryn Abbott | Vice President

Aaryn is an avid trail runner who appreciates the local food scene and weekend e-biking with his family. He joined Abbott | Reed in 2010. Today, he’s an owner whose expertise of complex construction operations, finance and legal matters are respected among the team. A Cal Poly alum, he earned a Masters of Real Estate Development degree at USC before becoming a licensed California Real Estate Broker. As a dynamic member of REACH and the SLO Chamber of Commerce, Aaryn is driven to make housing more accessible and sustainable. For the past 18 years, he’s been entitling, designing, structuring, and building housing communities here on the Central Coast.

Ryan Adams | Operations Manager

Ryan is our industrious boy scout. It’s a stretch to come up with anything cynical about this guy. A NAUI master diver, he served as a Captain in the Army Corps of Engineers after studying Construction Management at Cal Poly and earning his Class B General Contractor’s License. Today Ryan builds our custom homes, transforming homeowners’ dreams into reality. His approachable personality and ambition to succeed keep our clients happy. Ryan connects with our community as an active member of the Paso Robles Chamber of Commerce and serves on the council of North County Young Professionals. A true trailblazer, he’s the guide you want.

Jarrett Boyd | Project Manager

Air Force veteran and devoted dad, Jarrett takes great pride in setting a positive example and is committed to excellence. He is an Arroyo Grande native who spent many years traveling the globe with the military before making his way back to the Central Coast. Jarrett thrives in solving the unique challenges the construction industry throws at us. With experience ranging from new store development for Starbucks Corp. to managing complex public and private construction projects from start to finish, Jarrett brings a wealth of industry knowledge to the table. After 10 years in the field swinging a hammer, his attention to detail and technical experience make him a strategic asset with over 16 years in construction. When he’s not working, he’s all about family time and toting his kids around to various sporting events or out in nature on camping trips.

Ted Darby | General Superintendent

Ted has been at Abbott | Reed since the beginning. Raised in a developer family, he started working construction as a high school student before serving in the Navy as a Deep Sea Diver. Ted’s exceptional experience allows him to execute projects with precision and keep calm under pressure. In his extensive experience he has proven to be loyal and knowledgeable. He is passionate about training team members to build the highest quality homes through proven practices. Ted is an avid motorcyclist and self-described “Sherpa” for his wife’s photography hobby.

Bryan Eisemann | Project Manager

Bryan was born with building in his blood. A central coast local and third generation builder, Bryan grew up in the construction field, and brings a lifetime of hands-on experience to all of his projects. He is passionate about creating innovative strategies, and ensuring the best possible end product for all of his clients. When he isn’t on the job site, you can catch him at the local surf breaks or at home, working on his own improvement projects.

Shannen Fletcher | Contracts and Insurance Manager

Shannen is tenacious, she’s got to be to put up with our crew. For three years she has kept our active office running with no-nonsense wit. She devours books, bakes and regularly treks to San Francisco and Los Angeles for live music. Shannen never forgets a name or a face. In the office she monitors complex project plans while coordinating momentous events essential to keeping our team on track – including Beer Fridays.

Steve Griggs | Superintendent

Steve is determined and thrives when faced with a challenge. Seventeen years in the construction industry and six years with Abbott | Reed add up to valuable leadership experience. He appreciates that everyday in the field is different. Colleagues and friends alike admire his passion for building. Steve’s optimistic attitude serves him well whether he is diving into a new project or traversing the globe.

Veda Guillermo | Project Engineer

Veda approaches building as an opportunity to serve and improve community. With a solutions oriented focus, and a skill for learning and improving processes, she brings a wealth of insight to each project. Veda studied Construction Management at Cal Poly (SLO). She enjoys exploring the Central Coast with her dog, making jewelry, playing music, and spending time with friends and family.

Avery Kintner | Financial Consultant

Avery brings over thirty years of financial expertise to Abbott | Reed along with a passion for community service. After earning a Business degree with an Accounting Emphasis from Southern Methodist University he became a Certified Public Accountant. Avery’s special certifications include Green Building Professional and Sustainable Accounting Standards Board (SASB) FSA-Level 1. He appreciates staying active by swimming and practicing yoga. Avery’s ability to think strategically and willingness to collaborate make him a valuable addition to the team while his experience in risk management keeps us prepared for the future.

Arianna Lai | Controller

Outgoing and analytical, Arianna loves numbers and puzzles. This Central Coast native is aligned in all facets of her life from number crunching complex projects here at Abbott | Reed to budgeting international adventures with her husband. A Cal Poly grad with a background in finance, she considers analyzing her personal spending a good time along with snowboarding and cooking with her toddler. All things considered, Arianna adds up to be a perfect fit for our team.

Joey Masters | Superintendent

Joey thrives at turning concepts and ideas into quality finished solutions. As an Arroyo Grande native he grew up helping his dad with remodels. Learning the technical sides of numerous trades provided him with a skilled understanding of construction. He studied Construction Management at Cal Poly (SLO). His friendly nature and creative, dependable approach contribute to strong relationships and an excellent build experience. Joey is a family man and enjoys spending time with his wife and son. When time allows he loves to surf, golf, and fish.

Dewayne Mathews | Assistant Superintendent

Dewayne’s positive attitude and motivated approach complement the precision and craftsmanship of his work. He enjoys the challenges of construction and managing tasks in a fast-moving environment. With a strong eye for detail and a gracious personality he brings a dynamic presence to the jobsite. Dewayne enjoys flying drones, RC vehicles, and playing pool. He is a member of the American Poolplayers Association (APA)

Audrey McGowan | Project Engineer

Audrey finds inspiration in creating spaces that help people thrive. She grew up around construction and views building as an opportunity to strengthen communities. A Santa Margarita native, she studied Construction Management and Heavy Civil Construction at Cal Poly (SLO). A thoughtful and organized approach help her excel as a builder. Audrey enjoys time with loved ones, getting in the ocean, camping, and exploring good food and wine.

Scott Merson | Purchasing Manager

Scott is a natural problem solver. He is quick to provide answers and happy to interact with clients and subcontractors alike. After graduating from Cal Poly with a degree in Construction Management, he quickly made his mark as a successful project manager. Today, Scott is the go-to guy for creative solutions. Abbott | Reed relies on his positive energy and dependability.

Tom Mundee | Superintendent

Tom's organized, friendly approach and years of construction experience help him excel as a builder. With a drive for quality he enjoys the challenges and rewards of each phase of a project. A Paso Robles native, Tom studied Construction Management at Everglades University before returning to the Central Coast. He enjoys being active outdoors, exploring in his Jeep, and keeping things light with a playful sense of humor.

Matt Reddell | Staff Accountant

Matt’s days are numbered. He literally counts everything from calories and baseball runs to suave salsa steps. His optimistic attitude and enthusiasm for solving complicated puzzles provide our team with clarity and direction. His passion for determining how Abbott | Reed projects fit together on an accounting level makes what we do possible. He’s detail oriented with an eye for accuracy. Matt walks several miles to and from the office everyday. We respect his dedication to healthy living much more than his affinity for the Fast & Furious films.

Shawn Reed | President

Shawn built Abbott | Reed team from the ground up. Twenty-six years in the field make him a veteran leader in construction management. A perfectionist with passion for the craft, he’s proud our team conducts business with integrity. Shawn leads Habitat for Humanity San Luis Obispo and serves on the Construction Management Advisory Council at Cal Poly. He also participates in the community as a board member of the Home Builders Association of the Central Coast. Collaborators describe him as hard working and down to earth, with a great sense of humor. His ability to manage multiple disciplines is well respected by colleagues and clients. Shawn appreciates any excuse to adventure outdoors.

Stacey Tourdot | Senior Staff Accountant

With an eye for detail and over two decades of experience, Stacey provides exceptional support to the Abbott Reed finance team. Having worked for small startups and large corporations, she applies a wealth of insight into keeping accounting functioning at a high level. She enjoys problem solving and helping the team develop solutions with a positive and kind approach. Game nights with the family, nature walks, and visiting friends bring Stacey joy.

Mike appreciates the SLO life. Over two decades in the field separate him from the pack. Colleagues define Mike as a meticulous man who values getting the job done right on time. He simply won’t stop until a client is satisfied. Respected and approachable, Mike is admired by the entire team. Mike is happiest working out in the yard, listening to music or camping with his wife.
